History of Mae Nam Phim
Hundreds of years ago, there was a pregnant lady that lived in country Cambodia, a poverty-stricken and isolated village. When medical are not even developed, people lived by herbs and shamans for some cases. Like wise for women whom are pregnant, they don't have the luxury of having ultrasound scans or having vitamins for the baby. They don't have gynae/docs to deliver for them too, in such poor situation many women died during labor because of pain/losing too much blood/child unable to come to this world. The same tragedy happens to Mae Nam Phim. When she was in labour, she had a difficult pregnancy that caused severe hemorrhage, which unfortunately took her life.
On her death bed, she swore to the heavens and hoped with all her heart that no other women should have to go through such suffering as she had, and that all women can receive the help they need to lead a better life. This touched the heavens, and because she had accumulated much good karma when she was alive, they granted her wish and elevated her to the status of devi - goddess of the earth, so that she may help whoever that calls upon her, and that was how Mae Nam Phim came about, and this is why her image depicts her with a fetus’ legs dangling from her torso, which may appear scary for anyone who do not know her history.
When Luang Phor Up was meditating in the deep forest of Cambodia, Mae Nam Phim came to him in a vision, explaining to him who she was and she want Luang Phor Up to help her transferred her blessing to the devotees. She guide Luang Phor Up the knowledge of how to create and consecrate her own holy items.
In short, Mae Nam Phim is a divine and benevolent “Thep” (loosely translated to angel), and Luang Phor Up of Wat Thong Sai will also be considered the main creator of Mae Nam Phim items in Thailand. It was known that Luang Phor Up generally did not like using spirit or dark ingredients. But with a few exceptions, which were made only with his explicit consent. Even so, as these items were consecrated by Luang Phor Up and the items with “spirit or dark” ingredient can only be considered so in the strictest sense of the word.
Mae Nam Phim is worshipped by many who swear by her wish-granting abilities. Many Thai fervent to become her devotees as due to her wealth fetching effects as well. Many pregnant women also wear her image so that Mae can protect the fetus and bless them with a smooth and safe delivery.

湄南平 - 传记
几百年前，有一名怀孕生活在柬埔寨，一个贫穷而偏僻的村庄。当医疗还没有发展起来的时代，人们在某些情况下就的靠草药或所谓的巫师来治病。就像一般的怀孕妇女一样，她们没有超声波扫描或婴儿维生素的奢侈享受。他们也没有妇产科/医生为她们提供服务与帮助，在这种恶劣的情况下，许多妇女在劳动期间因痛苦/流血过多/无法来到这个世界的孩子而死亡。同样的悲剧发生在湄南平身上。在她临产时，她因胎儿逆转，头部朝上，导致生产时严重出血，不幸地夺走了她的生命与孩子的生命。
在湄南平临终时，她向上苍发愿，希望没有其他妇女像她一样遭受这种痛苦而死亡。她希望所有怀孕妇女都能得到更好的生活和所需的帮助。这感动了佛祖与天神，因为她在世时已经积累了许多善业，所以他们实现了她的愿望，并将她提升为地仙女神devi的神位，以便她可以帮助她须要帮助的人，这就是湄南平（Mae Nam Phim）的由来与传说，这也就是为什么她的形象描绘了她的胎儿的腿会悬在躯干上，这对于任何不了解她故事的人来说，可能会对她感到恐惧。
当龙婆阿在柬埔寨森林中修习禅定时，湄南平来到他身边。在向他介绍和解释她是谁，她希望龙婆阿可以帮助她，将她的赐福传给她的信徒们。她指导龙婆阿，了解和如何制作自己的圣物。
